Job summary

STV is seeking a Water Resources Engineer in the Transportation Practice, based in Owings Mills, MD or Fairfax, VA. The role offers opportunities to manage projects, mentor junior staff, interact with clients, and contribute to a culture of work-life balance.

You will support national infrastructure improvements and guide transportation agencies in MD, VA, and DC. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in water resources design, a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, and a PE license

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• MD or VA PE license preferred.
• 8+ years progressive water resource design experience.
• Experience with hydrology/hydraulic software such as GISHydro 2000, TR-55, TR-20, HY-8, HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, and SWMM.
• Familiarity with MDOT/VDOT and municipal client experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of MD/NPDES and Chesapeake Bay TMDL requirements.

Responsibilities

• Providing professional design services for transportation improvement projects for MDOT, VDOT, and local agencies.
• Developing design plans including stormwater management and BMPs.
• Coordinating design development and assisting with technical direction to staff.
• Coordinating with the design team to meet schedule and budget.
• Assisting with specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Interfacing with client staff and project managers.
• Mentoring water resource design staff.
• Attending project meetings with clients and sub-consultants.
