Job summary

Stantec is seeking an entry-level Water Resources EIT to join our team. The role involves working on smaller projects and assisting senior engineers under close supervision.

You will help evaluate, specify and engineer systems, participate in field activities, and contribute to hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and geospatial data tasks. Responsibilities

• Use knowledge of hydraulics, surveying and geotechnical concepts to support project work.
• Assist in creation of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and accompanying geospatial data.
• Assist team in preparing civil designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports.
• Conduct basic calculations and perform duties under supervision of a project engineer.
• May perform field work related to pilot and construction activities.
• Assist in supporting the civil team with submittal reviews and RFIs.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature as assigned.

Your Opportunity

The role of a Water Resources EIT is to work on smaller projects, and as a team member of larger projects under the close guidance and supervision of a senior engineer/designer. You should be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations, field work, coordination of simple tasks, and meeting attendance and recording. The smaller projects that an entry level civil engineer may be assigned to will have relatively few complex features. In general, a Water Resources EIT will assist more senior engineers/designers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Use knowledge of general concepts of relevant civil engineering elements including system hydraulics, surveying and topographic mapping, geotechnical considerations, grading, utility investigations and analyses.
• Assist in creation of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and accompanying geospatial data.
• Assist team in preparing civil designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports.
• Conduct basic calculations and performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned and under the supervision of a project engineer.
• May perform field work related to pilot and/or construction related activities.
• Assists in supporting the civil team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
