Job summary

Stantec in Richmond, VA is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our team under the guidance of a senior engineer. You will assist in evaluating, recommending, and specifying engineering principles to select the best plan with collaboration across stakeholders and internal experts.

You will support verifying compliance with applicable codes and standards, participate in field work, perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, assist in stormwater master planning, floodplain evaluations,

Responsibilities

• Coordinating with other disciplines and professionals under the direction of a senior engineer/designer.
• Performing field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer.
• Assisting with basic engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
• Assist in stormwater master planning at a basin or watershed scale.
• Assist in floodplain evaluations, including modeling and permit support.
• Support power sector projects including existing infrastructure maintenance and new infrastructure design.
• Assist in the design and analysis of stormwater management facilities.
• Provide field support for water quality studies, watershed walkovers, stream assessments, and other projects.
• Assist in civil site design and planning efforts.
• Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management.

Your Opportunity

As a Civil / Environmental Engineer you will work with close guidance and supervision on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a senior engineer/designer, you will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineering principles to select the best plan involving the collaboration with multiple stakeholders and expertise within the company.
