Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our Columbia or Charleston, SC team. You will support SCDOT and municipal projects, performing hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, drainage design, and modeling with HEC-RAS and MicroStation ORD.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, deliver high-quality reports, and contribute to bid and project pursuits while growing technical skills on river and watershed analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Biological Systems Engineering or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams).
• Coursework in Fluid Mechanics, Water Resources Engineering, and/or Urban Hydraulics & Hydrology.
• 0–3 years of water resources engineering experience.
• Knowledge of hydrologic/hydraulic methodologies and analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Proactively deliver a wide range of water resource projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Provide excellent client services with focus on quality and timeliness.
• Collaborate with design team members, project engineers, drafters, surveyors, inspectors, and clients.
• Support office and site visits for assigned projects.
• Assist with documentation and preliminary modeling for project pursuits.
• Model complex riverine systems and watersheds, and develop improvement alternatives.
• Prepare drainage reports and hydraulic memoranda.
