Job summary

RK&K is seeking an Engineer to join our Water Resources team in Columbia or Charleston, SC. You will support multiple SCDOT and municipal projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary group across the company.

Essential functions include delivering projects on time and within budget, providing strong client service, and coordinating with engineers, drafters, surveyors, inspectors, and officials. Proactive growth and site support are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Biological Systems Engineering
• Proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, Teams
• Coursework in Fluid Mechanics, Water Resources Engineering, and/or Urban Hydraulics and Hydrology
• 0-3 years of experience in water resources engineering
• Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic methodologies and analysis tools
• Strong communication and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Proactively deliver a wide range of water resource projects within scope, schedule, and budget
• Provide excellent client services with a focus on quality and timeliness
• Report to a Project Manager and collaborate with design team members, engineers, technicians, surveyors, contractors, and clients
• Provide office and site visit support for assigned and prospective projects
• Assist with documentation and preliminary modeling for project pursuits
• Model complex riverine systems and develop improvement alternatives
• Prepare drainage reports and hydraulic memoranda documenting approach and findings
• Assist with civil engineering plans development using MicroStation ORD
