Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a motivated mid-level Water Resources engineer for our Richmond, VA group. The role emphasizes drainage and stormwater design, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and erosion control within a multi-discipline team.

Expect growth into project leadership as you collaborate across offices and clients in Virginia. Qualified candidates hold a Civil/Environmental engineering degree (ABET) with 4–9 years of Water Resources experience, and a Virginia PE or

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 4–9 years of hands-on Water Resources engineering experience.
• Virginia PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with TR-55/TR20 hydrologic methods and Rational methodologies.
• Drainage and stormwater design experience for transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop drainage and stormwater design per client specs using current software.
• Analyze survey data and topographic information to plan projects.
• Conduct watershed studies and hydrologic/hydraulic analyses.
• Prepare contract documents, scopes, plans, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate with contractors, agencies, and multiple locations.
