Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) seeks a mid-level Water Resources engineer in Virginia Beach, VA with 4–10 years of experience. You’ll work on drainage and stormwater design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and erosion control while mentoring junior staff.

Preference for Virginia PE licensure within 6 months; compensation ranges from $75,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience and certifications. ESOP and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental engineering with emphasis in Water Resources.
• 4–10 years of Water Resources engineering experience.
• Virginia PE or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Develop drainage and stormwater design per specs using current software.
• Analyze surveys, maps, and topographic data for planning.
• Conduct watershed studies and hydrologic/hydraulic analyses.
• Prepare contract documents and cost estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
• Support field and construction phase activities.
