Job summary

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects in Kansas City, MO seeks a Water Resources Engineer with 4–10 years of experience to join our Water Resources Group as Project Engineer.

You will perform analysis and design on municipal water resources projects, supervise junior staff, model stormwater systems, study floodplains and hydrology, and assist in plan preparation and permitting. Collaboration with multiple disciplines and business development is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Master’s degree with emphasis in Hydrology and/or Hydraulics preferred.
• 4-10 years of responsible experience in water resource projects.
• Missouri Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide project engineering and task management on water resources design projects.
• Supervise and delegate work to junior engineers and staff for hydraulic tasks on complex projects.
• Conduct stormwater collection systems modeling and design.
• Perform floodplain, inundation, and hydrologic studies.
• Perform sediment transport and scour analyses to support projects.
• Assist in water resources permitting efforts.
• Collect, evaluate, and present data in reports and presentations.
• Assist in preparing plans and specifications for detention facilities, storm drains, and hydraulic structures.
• Work independently and with multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to business development, marketing, and proposals.
