Job summary

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects seeks a Water Resources Engineer with 4–10 years of experience to support our Water Resources Group in the Kansas City, MO office. You will perform analysis and design as a Project Engineer on municipal water resources projects and support other divisions as requested.

Responsibilities include project engineering, supervising junior staff, stormwater modeling, hydrologic studies, permitting support, and contribution to proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Master’s degree with emphasis in Hydrology and/or Hydraulics (or related) preferred.
• 4-10 years of progressively responsible experience in study, design, and construction administration of water resource projects.
• Missouri Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide project engineering and task management on water resources design projects.
• Supervise and delegate work to junior engineers and support staff for hydraulic tasks.
• Conduct stormwater collection systems modeling and design.
• Perform floodplain, inundation, and hydrologic studies.
• Perform sediment transport and scour analyses to support water resources projects.
• Assist in water resources permitting efforts.
• Collect, evaluate, and present data in reports and presentations.
• Prepare engineering plans/specifications for detention facilities, storm drains, and hydraulic structures.
• Work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to business development and proposal preparation.
