Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Water Resource Engineer for our New England team, focused on civil/environmental practices and river mechanics. The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines and requires a BS or MS in engineering, strong writing and communication, and experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and ArcGIS.

10+ years in hydraulics, river mechanics, and related fieldwork are expected. Preferred locations include Northampton, MA with flexible remote-site options within New England.

Qualifications

BS or MS degree in civil or environmental engineering.
10+ years of experience in water resource engineering.
Professional Engineer license with ability to obtain MA license within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Conduct desktop and field studies for water resource projects including habitat restoration (dam removal).
Perform culvert replacement and assess bridge hydraulics and scour.
Conduct flood risk assessments and coastal resilience analyses.
Support stream restoration and enhancement initiatives; prepare design documentation.
Develop hydrologic/hydraulic models and related analyses.
