Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join the Water Business Group in Charlotte, NC.

The role focuses on pump stations, pipelines, and water resources management, supporting planning, design, and construction phases from concept to completion. You will conduct hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, prepare technical reports, and coordinate with sub-consultants while maintaining project schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 6 months of water/wastewater engineering/hydrology experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of water/wastewater experience.
Education must include coursework in hydrology/hydraulics; work experience may substitute.
Experience in GIS analysis using ArcGIS; dashboard development; R; Tableau; and PowerBI is required.
Professional Engineer licensure is not a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

Assist with projects through planning, design, and construction phases (gravity sewers, force mains, water distribution and transmission pipelines).
Perform hydrologic/hydraulic modeling for water and wastewater projects and master plans.
Prepare reports and analyses related to water resources management.
Coordinate with sub-consultants and support schedules and budgets.
Occasionally perform field construction inspections.
