Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water/Wastewater Professional Engineer to support utility master planning, hydraulic modeling, and design across Maryland, DC, and Virginia. You will develop and calibrate hydraulic models for water distribution, sewer collection, and water reuse systems, with client interaction and proposal development responsibilities.

The role emphasizes collaboration, technical excellence, and delivering impactful solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in utility hydraulic modeling and infrastructure design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and calibrate water and wastewater hydraulic models.
• Perform GIS data analysis and alternatives analysis.
• Conduct preliminary engineering and cost analyses for capital projects.
• Prepare project reports, scopes of work, and proposals.
• Lead project teams and perform QA/QC for modeling and master planning tasks.
• Interact with clients in meetings and presentations to convey results.
