McFarland Johnson invites you to join our Water Resources Group, delivering hydrologic and hydraulic solutions for transportation, municipal, and environmental projects throughout the Northeast. You will develop 1-D/2-D models, analyze scour, and communicate results to clients while collaborating across multiple disciplines.

The role supports flexible hybrid work arrangements; EIT/FE certification is required, and PE licensure is preferred with potential to obtain within two years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• EIT/FE Certification required.
• PE license (or ability to obtain within two years) preferred.
• 3–7 years water resources experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations for transportation, municipal, and environmental projects.
• Develop 1-D and 2-D hydraulic models and communicate results to project teams and clients.
• Apply FHWA HEC methods to analyze scour, stream stability, and recommend countermeasures.
• Conduct field investigations and support planning, permitting, and project delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across transportation, environmental, and municipal disciplines.
• Prepare engineering reports, technical memoranda, permit applications, and construction documents.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to practice improvements.
