About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Water Resources Engineer to contribute to their team based in Welkom . This position focuses on the planning, design, and management of water-related infrastructure, including supply systems, wastewater treatment, and stormwater management. You will be instrumental in addressing challenges related to water scarcity, flood control, and environmental sustainability within the Free State province. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and a commitment to developing innovative and sustainable water solutions for the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses for water supply, drainage, and flood control projects.
• Design and specify water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, and pumping stations.
• Develop water management plans, including catchment management and water conservation strategies.
• Prepare design reports, technical specifications, drawings, and cost estimates for water infrastructure projects.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments related to water resource projects.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, municipalities, and other stakeholders on water-related issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in water resources engineering or related fields.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPANET) and GIS tools.
• Knowledge of South African water legislation and environmental regulations.
• Experience in dam design, pipeline networks, or water treatment plant design is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
