Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a seasoned Water Resources Leader in Charlotte, NC to guide stormwater, drainage, and hydrologic projects from planning through delivery. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure high-quality deliverables.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with municipal and regulatory bodies, and drive client development to grow our regional water resources practice.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• 8+ years of experience in water resources, stormwater, drainage, or related civil engineering projects.
• Strong background in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, and permitting.
• Experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, and technical teams.
• Familiarity with industry-standard drainage and hydraulic modeling software.
• Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies and permitting authorities.
• Background working with municipal, county, and state transportation or infrastructure clients.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams and business development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Lead stormwater, drainage, watershed, and water resources projects from planning through delivery.
• OverSee project scope, schedules, budgets, and overall project performance.
• Review, approve, and take ownership of engineering deliverables and QA/QC processes.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance to junior staff.
• Manage client communication and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support proposal development, interviews, and project pursuit activities.
• Maintain and grow relationships with municipal, county, and state agency clients.
• Contribute to business development and regional growth initiatives.

Job description

Join a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy focused on delivering stormwater, drainage, hydrologic/hydraulic, and water resources solutions for public-sector and infrastructure clients. The team works across planning, design, permitting, and project delivery phases, with an emphasis on technical excellence, client service, and long-term infrastructure improvements.

This role combines technical leadership, project management, client development, and team mentorship. You will play a key role in leading water resources projects, supporting staff development, managing project delivery, and strengthening client relationships throughout the region. The position is suited to someone who enjoys balancing project execution, business development, and leadership responsibilities while helping shape the growth of a local practice.

Key Responsibilities
