Job summary

RESPEC is seeking an Engineer-In-Training specializing in water resources for our Anchorage, Alaska office. You will support multiple projects across Alaska and the Lower 48, aiding in stormwater, floodplain management, and environmental compliance efforts.

You’ll work with interdisciplinary teams to develop data-driven solutions and advance your professional development. The role offers hands-on training, field data collection, and exposure to design, permitting, and construction documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
• FE exam completion is required.
• Knowledge/experience in hydrology and hydraulics is essential.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple water resource projects simultaneously with team and clients.
• Perform hydrology and hydraulics analyses to support watershed planning and hydraulic design.
• Prepare HS and technical presentations for diverse audiences.
• Attend site visits to collect data and verify conditions.
• Assist in preparation of construction plans, specs, and estimates.
• Support permit applications development.
