Job summary

HDR is seeking an EIT Water Resources in Portland to support design engineers on municipal water resource projects through modeling and analysis. You will focus on hydraulics and hydrology, stormwater modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presenting results to stakeholders.

Responsibilities include design calculations, drafting technical reports, and contributing to flood control, river design, and restoration projects, while embracing HDR’s employee-owned culture and collaborative

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently and with a project team.

  • Work with project engineers on design engineering and modeling for water resources projects for federal, state and local municipalities.
  • Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations.
  • Focus on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design.
  • Produce design calculations, draft technical reports and perform water resources studies.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of EIT Water Resources, we’ll count on you to:

  • Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local municipalities
  • Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations
  • Focus on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
