Job summary

HDR is seeking a Stormwater EIT/Coordinator in Houston, TX. You will work with project engineers on water resources projects and develop hydraulics and hydrology models for federal, state and local agencies.

The role emphasizes independent work within an employee-owned culture, with opportunities to advance to EIT and contribute to flood control and watershed restoration projects across the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team.

Responsibilities

  • Work under project engineers on design engineering and modeling for water resource projects.
  • Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations.
  • Focus on projects including flood control, river design, dike systems, levees, and watershed restoration.
  • Produce design calculations, draft technical reports and perform water resources studies.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Stormwater EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local municipalities
  • Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations
  • Focus on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design.
  • Produce design calculations, draft technical reports and perform water resources studies
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
