Job summary

The Thrasher Group North Carolina is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join the Gastonia, NC Water Resources team. You will apply your engineering knowledge to design residential and commercial water resources projects, coordinating with a team of professionals in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, 3–5 years of water/wastewater experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• EI/EIT certification is desirable but not required.
• 3–5 years of water/wastewater experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create technical drawings and plans for permitting and construction of water resource projects, including design, layout, grading, drainage, and erosion and sediment controls
• Provide technical support during construction activities, including reviewing plans
• Prepare cost estimates for water resource projects
• Develop engineering solutions for water resource challenges
• Collaborate with engineers to develop optimal designs for clients
• Coordinate with construction inspection personnel to ensure contracted work meets design intent
• Operate independently within a deadline-driven environment
