Job summary

Washington County Water Conservancy District in St. George, UT seeks a full-time Water Quality Scientist to perform lab analysis, develop water quality programs, and support plant operations. The role includes calibration of meters, data reporting, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or closely related field.
• At least one year of experience in a related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect water samples at treatment plant and field facilities for in-house or contracted lab analysis.
• Develop and implement water quality programs (reservoir monitoring, watershed protection).
• Monitor water quality and flow readings.
• Calibrate and maintain water quality meters and equipment (GC-MS, zeta potential).
• Prepare and analyze in-plant samples for pH, TSS, TDS, turbidity; maintain records.
