Job summary

The St. Johns River Water Management District is seeking an entry-level professional to perform routine chemical analysis and operate analytical equipment in its environmental chemistry laboratory.

You will work with auto analyzers, titrimetry, spectrophotometric instruments, and LIMS, preparing reports and maintaining meticulous records; a bachelor's degree in a related science is required, with comparable experience considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, limnology, botany, zoology, environmental science, or related field.
• Comparable professional experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
• This is a mandatory-testing position; drug screening is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine chemical analysis of water quality samples using approved methods and instrumentation.
• Documents quality control, QA, historical trend analysis, and parameter relationships with Excel and LIMS.
• Performs and documents routine maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for assigned instruments; interacts with vendor as necessary to troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Organizes incoming samples and reconciles samples versus electronic sample lists within LIMS; logs in samples, records preservations, and enters data; distributes samples to lab workstations.

Education
