Job summary

City of Loveland is seeking a Water Quality Scientist II to lead complex chemical, physical, and bacteriological analyses on water, wastewater, and sludge. You will manage Organic, Inorganic, QC, and Lab Operations programs and supervise advanced analytical methods development and instrumentation implementation.

The role requires a strong background in analytical chemistry, regulatory compliance, and project management, with potential evenings/weekends. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or related field.
• Five years' experience in water/wastewater municipal or commercial laboratory performing complex organic and/or inorganic analysis using GC-MS and/or ICP-MS.
• Valid driver's license.
• Graduate degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of public health and the environment per regulations.
• Manage laboratory operations and advanced analytical programs.
• Develop SAPs for studies and projects.
• Oversee QA/QC, safety, and laboratory operations.
