Job summary

City of Corvallis Public Works is seeking a Water Quality Analyst to perform drinking water, wastewater, and storm water testing and analysis in accordance with Oregon Health Authority and EPA requirements. Responsibilities include lab testing, QA/QC, reporting, and technical support for staff.

The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with a 12-month probationary period. Schedule is Tue–Fri, 6:30am–5:00pm; AFSCME-represented position, with overtime and on-call potential as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in microbiology, chemistry, biology or environmental sciences with required chemistry/biology coursework.
• Five years of laboratory experience including two years in environmental laboratory experience focused on routine water and/or wastewater analysis.
• Ability to obtain driver's license and CPR/First Aid within one year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on wastewater, storm water, and drinking water to ensure compliance with City, State and Federal requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC programs per TNI, USEPA, ORELAP and NELAP.
• Prepare technical reports and support regulatory agencies; respond to after-hours emergencies when needed.
