Job summary

Western Virginia Water Authority seeks a Laboratory Analyst I to perform detailed chemical and bacteriological tests on non-potable water and biosolids. You will collect samples, run analyses such as BOD, E.

coli, pH, TKN, and chlorination, and maintain calibration of instruments under QA/QC procedures. The role requires coordination with the Laboratory Supervisor and other departments, good teamwork, and the ability to work a standard weekday schedule with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or related field preferred.
• Two or more years of laboratory testing experience with regulatory oversight preferred.
• Prior wastewater testing laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects composite and grab samples for analysis.
• Performs tests including BOD, E. coli, pH, TKN, phosphorous and chlorination.
• Calibrates and maintains lab equipment and documents results.
• Adheres to QA/QC procedures to produce valid data.
• Works under supervision in a wastewater testing laboratory.
