Job summary

Kurita America is seeking a Laboratory Technician in New York to perform routine water analysis and support senior staff. You will log samples, run tests, calibrate instruments, and report results, while contributing to general lab duties and data compilation.

The role requires a chemistry background, 0–3 years in a lab, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a safety-conscious mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry preferred but will consider candidates with a degree or training/experience in other scientific fields.
• 0-3 years’ experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Hard worker, ability to multitask, able to function in a rapidly changing, fast paced environment.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and laboratory standard operating procedures.
• Must have excellent attention to detail and be a strong team player.
• Able to work efficiently, complete work on time, and maintain a clean work environment.

Responsibilities

• Log and prepare samples for analysis.
• Conduct routine testing such as pH, conductivity, hardness, and other ions on water and other samples as well as prepare samples for advanced analysis by senior laboratory associates.
• Calibrate equipment, load & monitor automated laboratory instruments, make observations, record data, and interpret test results.
• Perform and report corrosion coupon analysis.
• General lab duties include: cleaning of glassware, prep and shipping of samples, and organizing, pouring, and labeling reagent chemicals.
• Accurately compile data, organize information, and perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Performance of other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
