Laboratory Technician
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Laboratory Technician. This entry-level position provides the opportunity to support chemists in a fast-paced laboratory environment. No prior laboratory experience is required, though a strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn are essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine testing on drinking water, wastewater, and other raw materials using various chemical and physical test methods
- Operate laboratory instruments and equipment under guidance to generate reliable data.
- Support general lab maintenance, including keeping track of chemical inventories and supplies.
- Ensure lab cleanliness and maintain daily logs of laboratory activities and equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic maintenance of laboratory instruments.
- Wash laboratory glassware per company standards.
- Greet visitors and customers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Handle hazardous materials safely, including biological samples (e.g., wastewater treatment samples) and chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, lab coats, and hoods will be provided.
Qualifications:
- Work experience in laboratory, data entry or customer service environment preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and good organization skills
- Ability to contribute to a safe work culture
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be meticulous and able to work independently and safely
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and sit or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to be flexible.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
