Job summary

The Supervisor, Water Quality Field Operations at Aquarion Water Authority in Monroe, CT, leads the Sample Collection function and oversees eight Water Quality Field Technicians and one Intern to maintain compliance with monitoring requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience in Water Quality or Water Utility function.
• Working knowledge of water treatment chemistry and related monitoring procedures.
• Excellent planning, communication, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, SAMS, GIS, LIMS, Agentry (LIMS Mobile Applications), and SAP.
• Must be able to coordinate with other departments and contractors to complete objectives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate water quality management, compliance, and customer service issues for all water systems; review monitoring programs and maintain compliance with regulations.
• Directly support reservoir management across 26 reservoirs; oversee field monitoring, treatment, and related capital projects.
• Develop annual/monthly monitoring plans; manage weekly work schedules and daily sample runs.
• Select sample sites and ensure quality assurance across CT water systems; supervise capital projects for sampling.
• Participate in weekly water quality review meetings and emergency response planning.
• Assist with MA/NH systems as requested; support lab and information services teams as needed.
