Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Water team in a role that spans design and project execution. You will work on sanitary, storm, and watermain projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant designs and robust reports.

You’ll engage with clients, prepare technical documents, and contribute to cost estimates under senior leadership. This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum five years of related work experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Basic understanding of Bentley Microstation is a plus.
• Must have good driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design sanitary, storm, and watermain projects and overland flow / civil site plan design.
• Coordinate design and report deliverables for submission to clients and approvals.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager and attend meetings with the client, team members and sub-consultants.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and client/regulatory agency requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, and communications.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
• Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, and prepare site observation reports.
