Job summary

The City of Houston is seeking a Staff Analyst for the Houston Water service line to support management and analysis of water programs and education efforts. The role involves engaging with the public through outreach, events, and customer service activities.

You will compile data, develop reports, and assist with regulatory reporting, workflow improvements, and policy documentation, while handling confidential information and representing the supervisor at meetings.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
• Three years of professional administrative, financial or analytical experience.
• Experience may substitute education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and makes recommendations for medium-complexity water programs.
• Manages data, prepares reports and performs regulatory/contract metrics reporting.
• Interacts with the public through education, outreach and customer service events.
• Develops and documents policies and procedures as assigned.
• Supports management with workflow design and continuous improvement initiatives.
