The City of Houston is seeking a Staff Analyst for the Houston Water service line to support management and analysis of water programs and education efforts. The role involves engaging with the public through outreach, events, and customer service activities.
You will compile data, develop reports, and assist with regulatory reporting, workflow improvements, and policy documentation, while handling confidential information and representing the supervisor at meetings.

The staff analyst position will perform professional work in supporting the management and analysis of water programs and education efforts for the Houston Water service line. Furthermore, the staff analyst will interact with the public performing a variety of diverse educational, outreach, and customer service functions including coordination and event attendance.
There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.
This is a Department of Public Works position at the Tier II Level.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a field directly related to the type of work being performed.
Graduate degrees related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Three years of professional administrative, financial or analytical experience related to the type of work being performed are required.
Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of water utility programs and that demonstrate previous project management and analysis experience.
Department may administer skills assessment test.
