Job summary

City of Glendora is seeking a Water Production Supervisor to lead daily and long‑term water production operations, including wells, reservoirs, SCADA, and chlorine systems. The role ensures reliable water supply, regulatory compliance, and staff development in a collaborative public works environment.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on operations with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving to maintain public health and safety while guiding a high‑performing team.

Qualifications

• Five years of increasingly responsible experience in maintenance, operations, and repair of water production, water quality, and/or water treatment systems.
• Leadership or supervisory experience is highly desirable.
• Completion of the 12th grade with specialized coursework in water production or distribution.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, supervise staff in maintenance and repair of pumps, wells, reservoirs, valves, and related equipment.
• Oversee SCADA operations and water sampling per state requirements; adjust systems to ensure water quality.
• Prepare SWRCB reports and respond to public inquiries; coordinate with City staff and outside agencies.
• Monitor health and safety of the public regarding drinking water; manage budgets and purchasing.
• Lead bid packages for SCADA upgrades and infrastructure projects and supervise contractors.
