Job summary

City of Cedar Rapids seeks an experienced WPC Electrical, Instrumentation & HVAC Supervisor to lead electrical, instrumentation, controls and HVAC functions that support the City's water pollution control operations. This supervisory role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable facility operation every day.

The successful candidate will manage a skilled team, maintain complex systems, and collaborate with engineering and maintenance staff.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency.
3–5 years of experience in industrial instrumentation, steam drum operations and/or distribution systems.
Equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population.

Responsibilities

Accountable for installation, maintenance and repair of process instrumentation, control systems, electrical and HVAC assets.
Supervises assigned personnel, assigning work and conducting performance evaluations.
Installs and maintains PLCs, process control systems, and electrical systems.
Performs routine and emergency electrical repairs and HVAC maintenance.
Coordinates planned work with safety requirements and quality standards.
Supports engineering on WPC improvement projects and equipment selection.
