Job summary

City of Sacramento seeks a Plant Operator to run two T5 rated, multi-barrier surface water treatment plants with complex chemical treatment systems delivering drinking water to over 500,000 people. The role supports SCADA-operated processes, logs, and maintenance across Day, Swing or Graveyard shifts.

Applicants should be proficient with SCADA, able to monitor water treatment and wastewater interfaces, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• One year of progressively responsible experience in operation of a drinking water or wastewater facility.
• Must be able to work Day, Swing or Graveyard shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate two T5 rated, multi-barrier surface water treatment plants and manage complex chemical treatments.
• Monitor and adjust process parameters using SCADA and telemetry systems.
• Maintain logs and records of plant operations and tests.
• Assist in preventive maintenance and respond to alarms and outages.
• Interact with other work teams and adapt to changing priorities.
