Job summary

The City of Temple is seeking a dedicated Water Operator to monitor and operate the water treatment plant, distribution system, and storage facilities. You will work under supervision and must be able to cover weekends and holidays at a 24-hour facility.

Responsibilities include operating SCADA, adjusting chemicals, performing lab duties, recording data, and assisting with inspections and maintenance. A Class C Surface Water certificate from TCEQ and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Class C Surface Water certification from TCEQ.
• Experience with water treatment operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment plant and facilities per regulations.
• Use SCADA to adjust chemicals and equipment.
• Perform laboratory duties and collect samples for analyses.
• Maintain records and prepare daily logs and reports.
• Assist with inspections and maintenance projects.
• Attend trainings and follow safety guidelines.
• Work in confined spaces and around hazardous chemicals.
• Operate heavy equipment for facility maintenance.
