Job summary

Inframark LLC is seeking an entry-level Water Plant Operator to perform basic cleaning, painting, filter washing, and grounds maintenance across water plants, tanks, intakes and wells. This role supports operation and maintenance of facilities, with emphasis on safe handling of chemicals and adherence to procedures.

The position requires attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and readiness for shifts including overtime.

Qualifications

Prefer high school diploma or GED, or specialized vocational training in chemistry, or a closely related field.
Water treatment operations experience and minimum certifications preferred.
Must have a valid state driver's license and meet minimum driving standards.

Responsibilities

Operate water pumping mechanisms to regulate the flow and pressure of water during assigned shifts.
Monitor panel boards and adjust controls to regulate flow and distribution of water.
Backwash systems at designated intervals to clean
Record reservoir water elevation, power consumption, and equipment utilization data.
Conduct water treatment activities including adding chemicals to disinfect, deodorize, and clarify water.
Regulate flow through sedimentation and filter devices; post-treatment chemical addition.
Record chemical composition of raw and treated water; maintain records.
Calibrate meters and collect samples; perform tests like pH and chlorine residual.
Document readings and enter data into databases and paper records.
Monitor treatment process for issues; inspect equipment and gauges.
Transfer and mix chemicals; change chlorine cylinders and check for leaks.
Attend safety classes and comply with safety policies.
