Qualifications

• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and on-call schedules.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment plant equipment and processes.
• Perform routine testing and analysis of water samples for compliance.
• Adjust chemical feed rates and treatment processes as needed.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, reports and records.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on plant equipment.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies and after-hours call-outs.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with plant cleaning, upkeep and general maintenance.
• Coordinate with supervisors and staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Replace chlorine cylinders and monitor safety hazards.

H 2 O is currently seeking a Water Plant Operator to join our team in Pascagoula, MS. The Water Plant Operator is responsible for the operation, monitoring, maintenance and repair of the municipal water treatment plant to ensure safe, reliable and compliant drinking water. This position requires adherence to state and federal regulations and the ability to respond to operational issues and emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment plant equipment, systems and processes
• Perform routine testing and analysis of water samples to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Adjust chemical feed rates and treatment processes as needed
• Maintain accurate operational logs, reports and records

The Skills We Are Looking For

• Possess or have ability to obtain a State Water Plant Operator certification within a (1) year timeframe
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and on-call schedules

The successful candidate will have to pass a background check which includes criminal background & motor vehicle report checks, as well as drug & alcohol screenings.
