Job summary

H 2 O Innovation in Pascagoula, MS seeks a Water Plant Operator to run and monitor the municipal water plant, ensuring safe and compliant drinking water. You will perform testing, adjust chemical feeds, maintain logs, and respond to alarms while adhering to safety procedures.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a State Water Plant Operator certification within a year. Rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and on-call are expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to obtain State Water Plant Operator certification within 1 year.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and on-call schedules.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment plant equipment, systems and processes.
• Perform routine testing and analysis of water samples to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Adjust chemical feed rates and treatment processes as needed.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, reports and records.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on plant equipment.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies and after-hours call-outs as required.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with plant cleaning, upkeep and general maintenance.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Replace chlorine cylinders when needed.
• Knowledge of work hazards and safety precautions, especially in handling hazardous chemicals.
• Monitor flows and chlorine residuals.
