Job summary

The City of Blue Springs is seeking lifeguards to ensure patron safety across pools, slides, and aquatic facilities. The role enforces all rules, responds to emergencies, and participates in regular training.

Paid training and certifications are provided at no cost to the employee, with flexible shifts and team-oriented responsibilities. Candidates must be at least 16 years old, pass a background check and drug test, and demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Obtain StarGuard Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications (training provided at no cost).
• Background check and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patron safety by enforcing rules and responding to emergencies.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and effective communication with patrons and staff.
• Provide daily safety checks, complete reports, and participate in in-service training.
• Enforce policies, supervise areas, and assist in audits as needed.
• Notify appropriate agencies during emergencies and follow opening/closing protocols.
