Job summary

Jacobs Solutions Inc. in Prescott Valley, AZ is seeking a Water Operations and Instrumentation Technician to ensure a safe, reliable drinking water supply.

You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair SCADA components, instrumentation, pumps, and motors, supporting continuous operations and regulatory compliance. The role requires hands-on experience in water/wastewater operations, basic electrical knowledge, and the ability to work in safety-sensitive environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience or education in water/wastewater operations with hands-on mechanical and instrumentation maintenance.
• State-issued Water Treatment Grade I and Water Distribution Grade I, or ability to acquire within 1 year; NFPA70 or QEW preferred; Class A CDL preferred or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Proficient with operating water system SCADA software (Ignition) for daily operations.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and respond to on-call emergencies.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or vocational training in electronics, instrumentation, or industrial mechanics preferred but not required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, CMMS, HACH RIO, and WIMS.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wells and distribution system operations to meet water quality standards.
• Collect water samples and perform routine lab tests; adjust chemical dosing.
• Maintain logs of water system operations and chemical usage.
• Calibrate, repair, and replace process instrumentation and sensors; troubleshoot low-voltage components.
• Perform maintenance on pumps, motors, and valves to ensure system reliability.
