Jacobs is hiring an Advanced Water Treatment Operator for the Santa Cruz AWPF. You will operate and maintain the AWPF equipment, monitor processes, and ensure regulatory compliance to support reliable drinking water and environmental goals.

Responsibilities include lab sampling, data recording, preventive maintenance, and report preparation. The role requires SCADA proficiency, three to five years of water treatment experience, and a CA Driver's License with weekend/shift availability.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of wastewater/water treatment operations experience.
• SWRCB Grade II or higher Wastewater/Water Treatment Certification.
• CWEA AWTO Grade 3 or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Valid CA driver's license and ability to meet risk management guidelines.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and shift work.

Responsabilités

• Operates valves, pumps, and gates via SCADA or manual control.
• Maintains facilities, equipment, and vehicles; performs housekeeping as needed.
• Records meter readings, sensor data, and process variables in logs.
• Performs routine in-plant lab sampling and analyses; conducts flow and parameter checks.
• Performs preventative maintenance and responds to system emergencies.
• Prepares technical and administrative reports and maintains records.
• Develops cooperative relationships with staff, vendors and public.
• Willingness to work under varied weather and safety conditions.
