Job summary

Volarify is seeking an Intermediate Water Damage Technician in Chesapeake, VA, to lead residential and small commercial water mitigation projects. You will oversee crews, document progress, and ensure high-quality workmanship while maintaining safety standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 12 months in water damage restoration, hands-on experience with moisture meters and drying equipment, and a minimum of 25 projects completed. Valid driver’s license and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• 12 months of water damage restoration experience or equivalent
• Participation in at least 25 water damage restoration projects
• Current IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification
• Knowledge of IICRC S500 Water Damage Restoration Standard
• Knowledge of IICRC S520 Mold Remediation Standard
• Experience operating moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, hygrometers and related equipment
• Ability to complete moisture content logs, drying calculations, moisture mapping and project sketches
• Experience supervising small restoration crews (up to 10)
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Strong communication, customer service, leadership and organizational skills
• English communication proficiency

Responsibilities

• Lead water damage restoration crews on residential and small commercial projects
• Follow supervisor and project manager instructions
• Ensure PPE usage and safety compliance
• Monitor daily project progress and report updates
• Prepare field documentation, moisture logs, photos, sketches and reports
• Inspect and maintain restoration equipment and vehicles
• Protect customer property while delivering quality workmanship
• Provide excellent customer service throughout projects
• Meet deadlines in fast-paced environments
• Report labor hours, equipment usage and materials
• Attend safety meetings and training sessions
• Travel as needed, including nights and weekends
• Supervise CAT response projects when required
• Perform basic debris removal and containment setup
• Document restoration projects with photos and job file updates
• Operate and maintain water extraction and drying equipment
• Create moisture maps and project sketches
• Supervise small crews during mitigation
• Complete additional restoration duties as assigned
