Job summary

The East Wenatchee Water District is hiring a Meter Technician to maintain, repair and install the District’s meter and AMR/AMI systems. This full-time role reports to the Superintendent and operates under the AMI Specialist oversight, with on-call responsibilities.

Qualified applicants have a high school diploma and a willingness to obtain WA DOH certifications within 12 months; strong safety mindset and ability to work outdoors and coordinate with staff are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain Water Distribution Manager 1 (WA DOH) within 12 months.
• Must obtain Washington CCS within 12 months.
• First Aid/CPR within 12 months.
• Flagger Card within 12 months.
• Class A CDL within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair meters and related equipment.
• Read water meters and report data for billing.
• Coordinate work with office and field staff for efficient operations.
• Follow safety procedures and wear required safety gear.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding meter service and readings.
