Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Intern/Co-op to join the BC-1755 Water-US South organization in Chattanooga, TN. You will support geotechnical explorations, assist with project administration, data analysis, and basic CAD tasks while gaining exposure to a range of water infrastructure projects.

This internship emphasizes hands-on fieldwork, report writing, data evaluation, and collaboration with engineers on design and construction phases.

Qualifications

• In progress toward earning a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Interest in geotechnical engineering and water infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating geotechnical explorations.
• Assisting in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports
• Assisting technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, and performing calculations for design projects
• Perform modeling and design activities on a variety of water infrastructure projects
• Assist engineers with reviewing boring logs and laboratory data.
• Assist engineers in executing geotechnical analysis and evaluation of geotechnical hazards, as it relates to design and construction phases of the project.
• Gaining exposure and performing basic tasks in CAD and other design programs
• Performing construction observations and assisting with geotechnical field work, as needed
• Completing other engineering/administrative duties as required
