Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Intern/Co-op to support geotechnical explorations and water infrastructure projects in Nashville. You will assist with reports, data gathering, and CAD tasks while learning from engineers on diverse projects for municipalities, utilities, and government clients.

This role is ideal for a civil engineering student focused on geotech, wanting hands-on field and design experience in a team environment at a national firm.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction
• Willingness to learn and contribute to project tasks

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating geotechnical explorations
• Assist in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports
• Assist technical staff with data collection, reporting, and design calculations
• Perform modeling and design activities on water infrastructure projects
• Assist engineers with reviewing boring logs and laboratory data
• Assist engineers in geotechnical analysis and hazard evaluation for design and construction phases
• Gain exposure to CAD and other design software
• Perform construction observations and assist with geotechnical fieldwork
• Complete other engineering/administrative duties as required
