Job summary

BKF Engineers seeks a Construction Inspector to perform on-site inspections ensuring compliance with contract requirements and permits. The role involves reviewing submittals, testing materials, and maintaining records across water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects.

Candidates should have a college degree or 5 years’ field experience, a CA driver’s license, and 2+ years in supervision or inspection. CPII/ICC/ACI certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• College degree or 5 years’ work experience in related field.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• 2+ years of supervision or inspection in engineering construction work or 5 years in related trade.
• Certifications in CPII, ICC or ACI are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect a variety of construction including repair of pipelines, water mains, sewers, lift stations, and treatment plants.
• Advise Resident Engineer or Agency PM and inform contractors of variances from plans and specs.
• Take samples, prepare test specimens, and assist in field tests or refer samples for lab analysis.
• Check location of public utilities to avoid interference with construction work.
• Maintain material and inspection records and daily diary and photo log.
