Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a Construction Inspector to execute onsite inspections ensuring construction complies with contract requirements and permits. The role focuses on field assessments of pipelines, water mains, sewers, lift stations, and treatment facilities.

Responsibilities include advising project managers, reviewing submittals, documenting daily records, testing samples, and ensuring environmental and safety standards are met throughout water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• College degree or 5+ years in a related field.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license with acceptable record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect pipelines, water mains, sewers, lift stations, and treatment plants.
• Advise Resident Engineer or Agency PM and inform contractors of variances.
• Take material samples, prepare test specimens, and assist field tests.
• Check utilities locations to avoid interference with work.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and CCOs with project management.
• Verify materials against Certificates of Compliance and shop drawings.
• Maintain inspection records, daily diary, and quantities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
