Job summary

Carollo Engineers is seeking a Construction Inspector in Seattle, WA to support water and wastewater projects. The role involves inspecting construction activities, ensuring plans meet standards, and coordinating outages with clients.

You will prepare reports and document daily progress while mentoring junior inspectors. Ideal candidates have 4–8 years of field inspection experience, strong knowledge of construction specs and OSHA safety orders, and proficient record-keeping.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of standard construction specifications, codes and special standards for water and wastewater facilities.
• Working knowledge of soil compaction methods, density testing, concrete handling and curing techniques.
• Strong understanding of OSHA Construction Safety Orders.
• Ability to keep neat, accurate and concise records.

Responsibilities

• Interprets construction contract requirements for water and wastewater facilities.
• Reviews plans and specs for constructability, notes and omissions and potential problems.
• Schedules, plans, coordinates and completes site inspections.
• Coordinates outages with client facilities and prepares inspection reports.
• Maintains project files and daily diary with detailed records of progress.
• Prepares monthly estimates of construction quantities and progress.
• Maintains effective working relationships with contractors, consultants and owners.
• Mentors and supervises Junior Construction Inspectors.
