Job summary

IHS Sanitation Facilities Construction seeks a Construction Control Inspector to assist engineering staff in the design, construction, and as-built development of water, wastewater, and solid waste facilities. The position reports to a Supervisory Engineer and is located at various field offices.

The role includes inspecting and ensuring contract compliance, maintaining safety, documenting project progress, and conducting surveys and as-built development.

Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-7 in the Federal service.
• Experience reviewing contractor progress and preparing progress reports.
• Must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date.

Responsibilities

• Performing construction inspection and ensuring compliance with contracted plans and specifications for community and individual water supply.
• Observing worksite and work activity to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintaining a daily log of projects and record facts concerning work activity.
• Performing surveys for project designs, construction staking and as-builts.
• Preparing project reports and spreadsheets to track submittals, quantities installed, construction progress and payments.
• Reviewing project plans prior to contract advertisement to determine practicability.
