Job summary

The Indian Health Service is seeking a Construction Control Inspector to support the Office of Environmental Health & Engineering. This role assists engineering staff with technical duties in designing, constructing, and developing as-built records for water, wastewater, and solid waste facilities.

Location varies by duty location and requires monitoring construction progress, safety compliance, and documentation.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of specialized experience with construction inspection and reviewing contractor schedules.
• Experience reviewing construction schedules and progress reports.
• Ability to prepare reports and track submittals, quantities, progress and payments.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection and ensure compliance with contracted plans and specifications.
• Observe worksite and maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain a daily log of projects and record work activity.
• Perform surveys for project designs, construction staking and as-builts.
• Prepare project reports and spreadsheets to track submittals, quantities installed, construction progress and payments.
• Review project plans prior to contract advertisement to determine practicability.
