Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern for the Water group in the Southeast Region, including Coral Gables, FL and nearby offices. This college internship offers exposure to water and wastewater projects, working with experienced engineers to support design efforts and project delivery.

Interns will gain hands-on experience across project phases, contribute to engineering tasks, and learn using design guides and software tools in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• No experience required; current enrollment in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with emphasis in Structural, Environmental, Transportation, or Geotechnical.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop familiarity by reading and applying departmental design guides, standards, and procedures.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Perform routine research and recommend equipment/materials.
• Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods.
• Assist with project schedules, cost estimates, and engineering deliverables.
